Regency Escapism
Call me a sappy lovefool, but every reading of Julia Quinn's Regency romance novels (specifically the Bridgerton series, featuring the oh-so-lovable 8 Bridgerton Siblings) leaves me positively swooning with an idiotic "awwww that's so Romantic....." smile on my face=p
I know romance is not probably the type of reading one would choose as serious food for thought, but you can't say that they are not entertaining ;) And they definitely bring a smile on your face...the feeling is not unlike when I watched the following memorable (at least for me they are) movie scenes....
- When Drew Barrymore's character got kissed by that yummy-looking Literature Teacher at the baseball field in "Never Been Kissed"
- When Mr Darcy walked out of the misty moors towards Lizzie in "Pride and Prejudice" and uttered the words :"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love...I love you." (now THERE'S a Regency romance line right if ever there was one ;))
- Whenever I watch "Love Actually", the whole movie's great and I can't single out a particular scene =)
Sigh....I'll have to admit it, I'm hooked, line and sinker ;) Call it escapism, call it pure indulgence on my part...I say just bring on the Bridgertons my way baby!=p

If you liked Loved Actually, should try watching "The Holiday". quite similar in style and funny too!
