The Great Escape

"Throw it away, forget yesterday, we'll make the Great Escape....."

This song from Boys Like Girls is a current favourite of mine at the moment, probably because I'm having an especially busy and frustrating period at work with the Mid Year Performance Review (MYPR). Granted, I don't really work late nights like last year, but of late I feel that I've been going to work in a semi permanent PMS-kind-of mood. The funny thing is, the job that's inducing this PMS in me is, ironically, called PMS ie Performance Management System (of which the MYPR is part of). Aiyaiyai...whoever came up with the name and acronym of the thing surely got that right....=p

Anyways, despite the busy schedule, or probably because of it - stress does make you do things you normally wouldn't I guess=p., I was lucky enough to enjoy my own weekend Great Escape on the other side of Malaysia ;) Juney got married (the first of the Bears to do so =D), and even though I told her I wasn't going to make it due to work, I went to see her for the weekend anyway =D My Sayang, who lives in the neighbouring state of Penang was not able to make it as he was holidaying in Cambodia with his colleagues, so I missed the chance to see him this time around =(....Still, despite his absence, it was a weekend full of love for me =)...

Love These Moments :
  • Woonie humming June's Totoro ringtone in the backseat
  • Alan's warm hug the moment I stepped down from the bus
  • Cruising down the highway in "Ah Beh chia" while listening to "Vindicated" on my iPod together with Own Chai
  • June screaming when I stood in front of her on the front porch
  • Girl talk in June's room with Juney, Woonie and Flo
  • Chee Sheng and Kok Hin simultaneously filling my plate with dim sum from both sides - left and right. And you wonder why I'm getting fatter....=p
  • Having steamboat at June's and later having Kueh Tiaw Basah for supper - there's just something amazingly warm about eating together around the same table just like we used to do ;)
  • Just listening to the noise and laughter and jokes being thrown around...
Love These Bears =D

Love Juney
My constant email buddy, my matchmaker and therefore Khoon's biggest defender, fellow foodie and shopping buddy (If we saw each other on a regular basis I will be constantly broke!=p) More than anyone else, you prove to me that geographical distance is never a boundary to true friendship as long as you take the time to care and say "How's things today?" ;) Congratulations on your registration dear....I'm so happy for you =)

Love Chee Sheng For leaving some space on your shoulder for my head, no questions asked. For being the oxymoron that you are, rough on the outside but softie inside :)

Love Woonie
For always inspiring me to dream big and in so doing, helped me go all those wonderful places that I have only literally dreamt of going ;) For alway seeing things in a different way, for loving and sharing good music, movies and books with me...

Love Alan

For being my regular Agony Uncle =p. I'm always your favourite joke subject to be sure, but you're always always there for me when I need you.

Love Florence

For being both a hot chick and a really cool person at the same time :) And listening to all my grouches being in the HR field...=p

Love Kok Hin
For always being laid back and cool about everything...and for being such a big part of my memories as part of the Osirians =)

Love Own Chai

They ask why are we not going out together when we are and have been so close all this while...I ask why should I change anything about a relationship that is already perfect as it is?

Sigh....10th to 11th November 2007....will definitely be somewhere up there in the list of Top Weekends of my Life ;)...
