My Frog Prince

His name is not Prince Charming (its AH Khoon:P), he doesn't play the guitar or sing,he doesnt share my love for cheesecakes and sushi, nor has he ever given me flowers before or after we got together, but I love him....:)

Before I even had any inkling that I will fall for him, I wrote this about Ah Khoon (with whom I have shared 4 and counting years of friendship:)):

"If life can be measured in terms of variables, Ah Khoon will be one of the pembolehubah malar (constant factor) in my life :). A constant source of strength and smiles, he is always, always there for me :)..."

I believed in that then, and I still believe in it now :)

MAybe that's why I love him so much...:)

Hair Evolution

I finally did what I thought I will never do.

I had my hair rebonded (straightened). :P

So in order to mark this momentous occasion, here's a semi photo blog all about my hair.:P

Dark and wavy with a little bit of frizz on the side is my original hair:P The frizzcan get pretty bad sometimes, but generally the bad hair days wasn't that much :) By the way, I have alwayskept my hair long, at least shoulder length:P The shortest was above my shoulders a bit, but eventhat was not considered a boy cut, more like a bob:P

The idea of long hair with curls and ringlets at the ends always appealed to me (it just gives me a veryromantic feeling hehe:P), so before my final year in uni I had my hair permed with some highlights thrown in :)Unfortunately most friends commented that this hairstyle didnt differ much from my wavy hair previously:P But still I love those curly days :)....

By end of 2004 my curls were getting loose and the length of my thick hair was starting to get too long,so I got myself a chop and my hair slowly returned to its original hairsyle...but not for long...:P

We had a free colouring session from L'Oreal during our Brndstorm days, so I had my hair coloured a real dark brown, and that was the hair I lived with during those Brandstorm days. Here is a pic of me in Florence post-Brandstormwith my coloured (and certain part bleached:() hair. By that time my dark brown has faded into an auburn-ish brown, and though the topof my hair looked nice in its original wavy form, the ends were getting dry and spoilt (as seen in the pic), what with all the sunlight and lack of care during the whole backpacking trip.

"SPlit ends!!!" screamed my hair when I came back, so to the hairdresser I went again for another chop. But by thattime my hair was so dry, and the brown colour didnt help and only made my hair look like a field of dying parched grass:P

With my hair being such a mess and worry every day, I decided to rebond it for a neater & tidier, and definitely lessmaintenance look. There has been mixed reactions to the new look, but I'm pretty happy with it :)
So what do you think? Which look do you like best?:P

Working Life...

Today is Singapore's National Day, and it is also my first holiday since I started working last week :)....

I am actually now training to be a Customer Service Officer in the customer service centre...basically we have to receive and deal with customer calls and enquiries...as my company is actually a service centre outsourced by a bank based in Singapore, we get to enjoy Singapore holidays instead of Malaysian ones :P...but we are not paid in Sinsgapore dollars though (that's the whole point of them outsourcing, to save cost:P)

So how is working life so far? Well, so so I guess....I am not exactly working yet, still undergoing training for one month on all sorts of services that the bank provides in order to be able to answer the customer's queries...mostly I am learning about credit cards and such, and yesterday we learned how the bank calculates the credit card interest charges...all I can say is the bank makes a great great deal of money whenever the customers don't make full payment haha:P (in the words of James, a Taiwan guy we met in Venice on our Europe trip :"That's CRAZY!!!":P)

It's kind of hard to imagine me, of all people, to be well versed in credit cards and all that :P but really so far it has been quite fun and ok :) I guess one of the reason is my trainer is a pretty lively and funny person so I do enjoy her training, even though it has been years since I have done any calculation hehe...and my fellow recruits are all fun people and we get along pretty well...so...so far so good :)

But still, it is all part of the temporary permanence...last week I just received an offer letter from L'Oreal...an offer that left me so flabbergasted that it practically left me in tears (Seriously!!!) so...even though everything is going well and fine, I have a feeling it won't be long til my life will be turned upside down again by inevitable changes and new experiences....

...but for now, I am just living and enjoying the routineness of life:P I take a 1 hour bus ride from Taman Universiti to City Square where my office is located everyday, and though a lot of people might think it is very troublesome or ma fan, I am still thankful that my office is located at such a strategic position as I don't have to walk far from the bus stop in JB, and the buses that goes to and from JB to Taman Universiti are pretty frequent...in the morning I will sleep the whole trip (to compensate for waking up at 6am haha:P), and in the evening when I get back, I will look at the sunset over Pantai Lido :).... I love how the skies and high tide and palm trees along the road look like on the way home...I have never met anyone who can compliment JB as being a beautiful city, but on my evening rides back I can't help but appreciate that JB has its own little charm :P... and I like that the bus uses the little roads to get out of JB city before going to the highway when I get back....whenever I pass those roads I feel that THIS is the real JB, the JB that has all the little shops and rickety government quarters and restaurants with names like "Restoran Mama Ashley's" hehe:p....it is definitely less superficial than anything that City Square or Pelangi Plaza can offer :)...

So yup, that's how working life has been so far...routine...but that's not necessarily a bad thing ;)...
