Item#26 on my list of Things to do in Life:
26) Join a beauty pageant/ cover girl contest (any contest that involves beauty-lah:P)
I can cross it off today since I joined the Estee Lauder Model Search contest and got myself a makeover and other goodies at our local Parkson this afternoon ;) I doubt I'll be one of the selected semi-finalist, but still, it was fun to get all made up =D Besides, key word here is join, not go far hahaha...=p
Anyways, here's some titbits on my makeover experience:
The face experience :
- I got like 3 layers of foundation put on my face =p
- Gold+reddish colours for my eyes
- Fake eyelashes!
- Nice warm earthy colours for my lips, which I liked =)
The hair experience :
- For once I got complimented on my naturally wavy hair =D I say for once because whenever I go to get my hair trimmed, the hairstylists (regardless of which salon I go to) always recommend getting my hair Rebonded ie Straightened, so it's nice to hear that compliment instead of the usual comment =p
- The hairdresser decided not to do any drastic change to my hairstyle. With a few turns of the curling iron, I got a headful of soft waves.....I like =) (though the style does tend to make me look older I think =p)
The wardrobe experience:
- I got dressed up in a shiny red, knee length tube/sheath kinda dress. Felt very weird and even exposed in it cuz it was definitely not something that I was used to. Oh, and I was also worried that it might fall off as I don't believe I'm well-endowed enough to keep it up should the shark clip on my back that held it tight accidentally gave away =p (All the clothes available were of a looser size and most contestants got their outfits tightened and fitted by shark clips).
The posing experience :
- Arms there, body lean down a bit, chin up etc etc.......Felt very unnatural, very awkward, and again, very worried I might accidentally flash unknowing Mirians should my dress fall off in the midst of my posing=p
The photo touch-up experience:
- This was VERY cool ;) I sat beside the computer dude and watched as he erased all my blemishes and smoothed out my face, made my peepers slightly bigger, slimmed down my arms and face and made my skin positively glow with radiant fairness...all in the course of 3 minutes! =p I asked him whether this happens to ALL those gorgeous pictures you see in magazines, to which he answered :"Yeah, actually they (ie models) all also, not really beauty lah hahaha"
So what do you think, do I make the cut? ;)
